Nanded (Maharashtra) : The winter session of the Maharashtra Assembly was quite heated due to the murder of Santosh Deshmukh, the Sarpanch of Massajog village in Beed district. During this session, the Chief Minister ordered a thorough investigation, stating that no one would be spared. However, there have been continuous demands for the arrest of Walmiqi Karad, with cases being filed against him. Meanwhile, there has been outrage over the death of Somnath Suryavanshi in Parbhani. In this context, Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, will today meet the family of the victim, Somvanshi, in Parbhani. He will land at Nanded Airport and travel to Parbhani, where Congress Maharashtra in-charge Ramesh Chennithala, State President Nana Patole, and former Leader of Opposition Vijay Wadettiwar are also present. Speaking to the media at Nanded Airport, Nana Patole demanded the resignation of Minister Dhananjay Munde over the Beed incident.

The Santosh Deshmukh murder case has sparked significant tension in the state, with the Maratha Kranti Morcha also expressing strong outrage. A statement was submitted by a member of the Marathi Kranti Morcha from Baramati, demanding the dismissal of Minister Dhananjay Munde from the cabinet. Now, Congress leader Nana Patole has also demanded Dhananjay Munde’s resignation. When allegations were made against Ajit Pawar, he was removed from the cabinet as well. Patole stated that only if Chief Minister and Ajit Pawar remove Dhananjay Munde from the cabinet and conduct a proper investigation, will Santosh Deshmukh get justice.

"Walmiqi Karad is a mafia. In the Massajog case, even MLAs from the ruling party spoke about the truth of the situation, but the Chief Minister wasted time and gave strength to the mafia," said Nana Patole. "We demand that Dhananjay Munde be removed from the cabinet, and a thorough investigation be carried out in this case," he added in Nanded.

Meanwhile, in the murder case of Santosh Deshmukh, Shiv Sena leader and Minister of Social Justice Sanjay Shirsat held a 30-minute discussion with the new Superintendent of Police in Beed, Navneet Kowat. They reviewed the police investigation and issued instructions to arrest the remaining accused as soon as possible. After the meeting with the SP, Shirsat will visit Massajog and meet the Deshmukh family.
