PM Modi in Kuwait: A Two-Day Visit to Strengthen Ties

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Kuwait for a two-day visit, marking the first visit to the country by an Indian Prime Minister in 43 years. This visit comes at a time when significant geopolitical changes are taking place in the region, including the fall of President Bashar al-Assad's regime in Syria and ongoing Israeli attacks in Gaza. During his visit, Modi will engage in discussions with Kuwait's leadership.

On Saturday, PM Modi landed in Kuwait for his official visit, where he will hold talks with Kuwaiti leaders and meet with the Indian diaspora. His visit is at the invitation of the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. This is the first time in 43 years that an Indian Prime Minister has visited Kuwait, highlighting the significance of this diplomatic trip.

Upon arriving at a hotel in Kuwait City, PM Modi was warmly greeted by the Indian community, who took the opportunity to interact with him. Modi is set to engage in detailed discussions with the Amir of Kuwait, the Crown Prince, and the Prime Minister of Kuwait during his stay.

PM Modi also attended a cultural performance by local artists in Kuwait City, further strengthening the cultural ties between India and Kuwait.

Future Partnerships between India and Kuwait

Before departing for Kuwait, Modi stated that his meetings with Kuwait’s top leadership would offer a chance to lay the groundwork for future bilateral cooperation between the two nations. He emphasized that India values its historical relations with Kuwait, which have been built over generations. He noted that both nations are strong partners in trade and energy and share common interests in promoting peace, security, stability, and prosperity in the Middle East.
